Frequently Asked Questions

What’s with the name, Mad Macaw Media?

  • That’s easy, I own two macaws (Lola - 5 years, and Toney 1 year). The bond with these birds is beyond anything you can imagine. They are beautiful and smart and funny and a whole lot of attitude… Lola is bonded with my husband, so I was wondering what to call my Agency one day and heard her scream and thought “dang that’s one mad macaw” and I love alliteration so adding ‘media’ to the end just worked! Looking at my logo just makes me laugh everyday because these birds are a huge part of my life and mean so much to me.
-- You can even follow them on Instagram!

Did you go to school for this?

  • I did. I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Marketing and a minor in Management. I also have a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. But my formal education is only one part of the journey! The majority of my skills were developed through life and work experience and skill development. I’ve worked for SEO agencies, I’ve worked for independent companies as the in-house Digital Marketing Specialist and other variations of such. Hands on learning and great vendor connections is really how I’ve garnered my skills.

How fast will SEO and Digital Marketing work for me?

  • That depends, and it’s not a one size fits all situation either. Google has various algorithms we have to take into account when it comes to your rankings and that’s IF you already have a website, if we’re building from the ground up it’s certainly not impossible but it’s going to take some time. However, with the rise in viral social media, if you’re willing to put the work in and hone in on your niche there’s more opportunity to get noticed.

  • Your needs are unique, we’ll build a strategy and goal plan together to help YOU shine.

Can’t I just do this on my own?

  • Sure, you could, but in my experience our ‘hobbies’ come second to our ‘job’ and ‘commitments’ so why not let ME put the work in and you reap the benefit? Plus I’ve been in this game for a while so I’m kinda good at it!

Is a website alone, enough?

  • No! You need digital marketing to support it. Anyone can throw together a website (hello 90’s) but it takes time and skill to develop a website that is functionally balanced, optimized to the brim, and engaging. Social signals also contribute to your ranking (meet your customers where they are) and if you’re local people are itching to get out and get connected so live events that result in social media, news coverage, press releases, etc. are GOLD for link building!
